The amount you can earn is varied based on the type of job you’re doing. Average hourly pay ranges from approximately $9.00 per hour for Researcher to $18.90 per hour for Data Entry Clerk. Most of the job related to the search engine or social media evaluation pays around $3 per hour. Many other tasks are also available which pay you based on your work.

If you don’t take it seriously and make some unacceptable mistakes, you may get banned from the project or the Appen platform.

How can you start?
You can find Appen’s jobs here. Create your Appen account with your email. You also have to provide some of your details like your address, language you know, etc. They may ask you to add your resume, so get ready. Set up your payment. For me, I had to set up with Payoneer.
Appen will give you access to their global site, where you can see all your account details, payment details, and more stuff. Make sure you check your email inbox regularly, they will send you all kinds of details about your account, payment, job suggestions/invites, etc.
To work on a project, you have to pass the project’s entry test. Don’t worry, they are not that hard, and even if you fail on the first try, they usually provide 2/3 retries.
They will evaluate your performance continuously during the project. If your job performance is not as good as they expected, they may give you some assessment (usually similar to the entry test). You have to pass those tests to continue working on that specific project. Otherwise, your project contract will be terminated.
Read instruction properly, for many projects you have to manually enter your work-time to their website. If you don’t know or forget to enter, you won’t get paid for those working hours.
Takeaway
Appen is a good platform if you wanna invest some of your free time to earn some extra income. I wouldn’t try to do it full-time, because sometimes for some projects you have to wait for weeks to get responses from them to work on a project.
Good thing is, they will pay you for your work. Even if you are rejected from the project you’re working on for some reason, they will calculate your working hours and you’ll still get paid.
