How to visualize and achieve your goal smartly
When we think about our goal or any task we want to accomplish; it started from our mind or thoughts. But if we really want to make it done then we need to work. A lot of people start working on things without having a proper plan and end up doing a lot of work, again and again, wasting a lot of time.
In today’s world, where everyone is rushing, starting or doing things faster than anyone else seems like a good idea but without a proper plan, you are taking a huge risk that’s gonna make you end up failing.
Goal visualization takes a huge role to achieve a goal. It helps to work smartly not just hard. It is divided into seven steps.
1. Decide exactly what you want: Before doing anything make sure you know what exactly you want and why you want to do it. You should have a clear vision of your goal. The more you are clear of your goal, the more it becomes feasible. You can discuss your goal with your friends, families, co-workers, boss or anyone you want to discuss. It is worth to spend time on deciding your goal because its gonna make you stick to the plan and don’t walk away from doing it.
2. Write it down
Take a piece of paper and write down whatever you think about your goal, whatever you’ve discussed. Writing down your goal gives you a crystal clear idea of your goal and it also gives you another perspective of thinking i.e to see them from a different outlook (by seeing them not just thinking).
3. Make a list of everything that you can think of that you are going to have to do to achieve your goal
Thinking of a goal may have several sub-goals. Make a list of all the smaller task you need to do to achieve the goal. Keep building your list until it is completed. Dividing sub-task will give you a visualization of your goal and its path, it will make it easier to work as well as you can calculate how much work or percentage you have done by setting a mark every time you complete a sub-task from the list.
4. Organize the list into a plan
Set dependencies of your sub-tasks by finding out which task will do first and which one will follow which task. Set priorities and relationships between them or you can make a Flow chart or Gantt chart to make the relationship more clear.
5. Set a deadline on your goal
Without a deadline, you will end up doing a very little amount of work. You might not be able to set or decide a proper deadline but a task without a deadline has no starting or end. So, make a proper deadline or an approximate one. From the list of works you made, calculate how must time you require to complete each work. Those are the individual deadline for each work, add them together to form a deadline for your goal.
6. Take action on your plan immediately
An idea or plan is nothing without any action. Start working on your sub-tasks. Do something. Doing something is always far better than a brilliant plan on which nothing has been done.
7. Resolve to do something every single day that moves you towards your major goal
Even a sub-task may take several days to complete. Make a goal every single day to complete something and you must never miss a day. If your goal is to read a book, decide I’ll read this much pages today or every day. Don’t end up the day without achieving the goal. Achieving those small goals will push you and boost your productivity.
